Braeden Lemasters Biography: Actor to Indie Icon

Braeden Lemasters

Early Childhood and Career Beginning

Matthew Braeden Lemasters was born on January 27, 1996 in Warren, Ohio, to Dave (David) and Michelle Lemasters. He is the younger of two sons; his older brother is Austin. Lemasters grew up in a family that did not have ties to the entertainment industry.

In addition to this, he demonstrated early interest in performing at a young age. When Lemasters was just nine years old, his family moved from their home in Ohio to Santa Clarita, California — a suburb near Los Angeles — so that Lemasters could pursue acting opportunities. A big reason for moving to Santa Clarita was Lemasters’ drive to pursue acting. After attending school plays and participating in community theater in his hometown, Lemasters wanted to see if he could make it as a performer.

He started acting when he was still very young. Lemasters’ first credited performance occurred in 2005 as Frankie on HBO’s Six Feet Under. With this opportunity he was able to land a number of guest roles on major television procedurals and dramas: ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, The Closer, House, and Cold Case. Many of these early appearances portrayed Lemasters as a young character who struggled emotionally, showing his ability to portray deep emotion even as a young actor.

Lemasters’ break-through was when he received a recurring role on TNT’s Men of a Certain Age (2009–2011). Lemasters was Albert, the son of one of the lead characters played by Ray Romano. Men of a Certain Age was a show that developed a reputation for portraying mature themes in a manner that provided a nuanced look at middle age.

As a result, Lemasters was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Television Series (Comedy or Drama) – Supporting Young Actor. During his time on Men of a Certain Age, Lemasters gained recognition as a dependable young actor capable of maintaining scenes with established actors such as Romano and Andre Braugher.

Building a Career in Television and Film

The beginning of Lemaster’s adult acting career can be traced back to when he was a teenager. He had some consistent work during this time period and had the following credits:

Guest spots in various television shows including: Eli Stone, Life, Saving Grace, The Mentalist.

Recurring guest role as Victor McAllister on ABC’s short lived drama, Betrayal (2013-2014). His portrayal of the character added depth to the show’s family conflict story lines.

He also appeared in films including: The Stepfather (2009 remake), Easy A (2010), The Rewrite (2014) with Hugh Grant, and R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls (2015 horror-comedy with Dove Cameron).

He played the lead role of Trevor in the Hulu/Netflix teen thriller series, T@gged (2017-2018), where he portrayed a complex character in a mystery/narrative that dealt with cyber-bullying.

He worked on other projects including: Flock of Four (2018 adventure-comedy/drama as Joey Grover), The Whispers (2015 ABC series), and anthology or indie shorts.

In terms of his acting style, he used a subtle approach—using quiet intensity, expressive eyes and an understated emotional range which made him good at working in ensemble/supporting roles. In addition, after approximately 2018-2019, there were fewer acting credits. There is no documentation of any major film or television roles for 2024 or 2025; however, he does have music related appearances (for example: having songs placed in shows such as Ms. Marvel or Scream) due to his work in Wallows instead of being an on-screen actor.

In comparison to how he has been portrayed as an “indie actor” in 2026, his screen career reached its peak in the 2010s. Like many who prefer to keep their private lives private, he has avoided high profile franchises and has not become a tabloid celebrity.

Musical Evolution: Creating a band with Wallows

The most impactful transformation of Lemaster’s life has been in music. In Los Angeles, Lemaster co-founded Wallows with childhood friends Dylan Minnette (bass/vocalist – best known for 13 Reasons Why) and Cole Preston (drums) around 2011-15 (the group was initially called The Narwhals). The three musicians connected via their similar interests in alternative rock, indie and 1990s/2000s styles of music. With Wallows, they achieved success with viral hits such as “Are You Bored Yet?” (2019 – featuring Clairo) that appeared on Spotify Viral 50. Their initial EP, Nothing Happens (2019), followed by their first full-length record, Remote (2020), helped establish a strong base of fans with their catchy hooks, reflective lyrics and dynamic live shows.

Tell Me That It’s Over (2022) was their second studio album and entered Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums at number 5. It was also produced by Ariel Rechtshaid.

Model (May 2024) is Wallows’ third studio album and was produced by John Congleton. Tracks included were “Your Apartment” and “Calling After Me”. The album received praise for incorporating post-punk, indie-folk and psychedelic styles of music.

Wallows toured extensively including festival headlining slots at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Reading & Leeds, as well as headlined shows at large venues such as Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks and internationally at arena-sized venues.

Their tour, The Model & More Tour (2025), ran across North America from Feb to the end of 2025 (ending roughly in Oct-Nov) and featured supporting acts such as Deb Never. This was their biggest headlining tour yet and it provided Wallows with an opportunity to provide high energy performances in which Lemasters would frequently connect with the crowd, sometimes even stepping out into the lawn to share experiences (such as sharing popcorn with fans or allowing fans to take turns playing his guitar).

After wrapping up The Model & More Tour in 2026, Wallows will continue to be active. Although no specific plans have been announced, the group may create new material or perform live (for example, Wallows are scheduled to appear at a GRAMMY Museum spotlight event). Lemasters serves as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist and primary songwriter on many songs for Wallows, providing evidence of his transition from being primarily an actor to becoming a musician.

Lemasters has chosen to keep his personal affairs out of the spotlight. While Lemasters does have an active band related presence on social media, he does not post much else and has no confirmed public relationship since becoming well known. Rarely seen, when he is it is usually because he was in Los Angeles working or visiting family in Ohio. He gives credit to his mid-western roots for helping to ground himself as he navigates through the pressure of being in the entertainment industry and emphasizes that whether it be performing acting scenes or writing songs, he focuses on his craft rather than being a celebrity.

Physical Presence and Appearance

As of 2026 (Age: 30): Height: Estimated at approximately 5 ft 10 in (178 cm) based on both his IMDb listing and other reports of his height.

Style: Lemasters has a lean build, dark hair (usually messy or styled for performances), expressive eyes, and boyish looks that have matured into a charming stage presence. Lemasters wears casual rock attire (tees, jeans, sneakers) while performing with Wallows but wears casual unpretentious clothing off-stage.

Estimated Net Worth 2026

Estimates vary greatly and are speculative. According to older estimates (i.e., Taddlr) Lemasters had an estimated net worth of ~$200,000 prior to his success with Wallows. Given the success of Wallows (he is signed with major labels Atlantic/Interscope Records, his music has been streamed millions of times, he has performed sold-out tours, and his albums sell thousands of copies) Lemasters’ net worth is likely greater, potentially in the $2–10 million dollar range (taking into account the percentage split of band revenue, residuals from acting, and music royalties). There are no officially reported numbers of Lemasters’ net worth. He has avoided endorsing products or other high visibility monetizing opportunities

Why Braeden Lemasters Is a Creative Longevity Model for Artists of 2026

Braeden Lemasters is now 30 years old, and instead of just continuing as a talented young actor, he has evolved into an artist that achieves creative longevity through collaboration as opposed to being a solo star. Although it can be said that Lemasters was once labeled “the underrated actor,” at this point in his career, his true identity is centered around the successful rise of Wallows—a genuine indie-rock success story based on friendship, consistent release of new material and real connection with fans. Lemasters finds the perfect balance of private life, yet public interaction by engaging the crowd when performing live but never seeking to create controversy or drama.

Lemaster’s journey from being a child actor in Ohio to becoming one of the founding members of the Los Angeles-based band Wallows exemplifies how to continue to grow creatively while remaining resilient in rapidly changing industries. The acting experience gave him early skills in expressing himself and telling stories; however, the opportunity to express himself freely and connect with like-minded individuals through music gave him the chance to do so as well. Following the completion of the Model & More tour in 2026, Lemasters represents many artists who are able to adapt while maintaining true to themselves.
